6 Weeks Out


Wait what? Did someone say half way? Yip that’s right. As of Sunday we are half way, which is a bit of a relief. Not that I’m not enjoying the process because I am, but it would be nice to not measure my food for a day and be able to eat the little cookie they put on my coffee.


Here is me 6 weeks ago and now half way through the challenge.

With mostly positive things to report so far throughout the journey, there have been a few changes I have noticed with living off a calorie deficit diet for the past few weeks.  The feeling of being dizzy and the lack of energy at times throughout the day has been the main noticeable side effect. But in all honesty this was to be expected. By listening to my body and not over training, consuming more water and getting more sleep, this has made a massive different in reducing the side effects.

Wednesday afternoon my nerves were sky high as I got the shock of my life when I attended my very first posing class. I quickly learnt that there is more to these Fitness Comps than just tans and muscles. You need to know how to show off your muscles correctly and elegantly. To my disadvantage, elegance doesn’t come naturally to me therefore this has been my biggest challenge so far.


Now because I’ve continued to put myself out of my comfort zone throughout this whole challenge, I am going to share with you all the video my posing coach took so I could practice during the week. WARNING: yes I am aware it’s terrible, yes this is my FIRST class and yes I have work to do. 



By the way, this is so much harder than it looks while also feeling like an idiot. Lets just hope I’ve mastered this routine by October.


A not so social Friday and Saturday night has become a familiar feeling the past few weeks. Not because I don’t want to go out and enjoy the company of friends and family but the lack of energy to be social is a real thing. Not to mention watching everyone enjoy his or her alcoholic beverage and delicious looking food while drinking soda water and lemon is reason enough to stay in.

 But it’s not all bad! I’ve learnt to kill the cravings with coffee (or tea in the evenings). For anyone who knows me, coffee comes first. There’s’ always an excuse to get coffee but during the past few weeks, even I’ll admit my coffee intake has become excessive. Feeling hungry, coffee. Feeling tired, coffee. Feeling bored, coffee. Maybe a coffee machine for my Birthday wasn’t such a good idea after all but maybe this helps explain the dizzy spells during the day!







Regardless of the physically and mentally challenges this week, Sunday mornings coffee (of course) and walk along the coast with Alan was a little reminder that summer is on it’s way, and to remind you that it’s not to late to start working towards your goals.
